Biography[edit]Early life[edit]Gelbart was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Jewish immigrants Harry Gelbart, "a barber since his half of a childhood in Latvia,"[2] and Frieda Sturner, who migrated to America from Dąbrowa Górnicza, Poland.
